CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN THIERRY, CNNfn ANCHOR, MARKET COVERAGE: On the "Leading Edge" today, Z-Coil, footwear design and marketing for people, especially runners with foot, leg or even back pain. Alvaro Gallegos is the founder and CEO of Z-Coil shoes.  He joins us from Albuquerque, New Mexico and welcome to the leading edge.
All right.  I have one of your sneakers right here Alvaro and I got to tell you, it looks a little funny.  I guess I am not used to it.  Tell us what this it does.
ALVARO GALLEGOS, FOUNDER AND CEO; Z-COIL SHOES: Well, it does have a spring in it and it is an unusual looking shoe.  But before I get to that, I really have to tell you why we make the shoe as we do. There are 2 1/2 times our body weight that goes into our shoe in a regular stride, 4 1/2 to 5 time when we run.  And so the impact is tremendous on our little feet that we walk on.  The other thing is, I really got to show you the foot. A lot of people don’t know what happens.  There is a tendon that – planter (ph) tendon that runs right across from the metatarsal to heal and when we trust our whole body to a shoe that flexes in that area, we can be in big trouble.  So we designed a shoe with a metatarsal that extends from the heel to the metatarsal.  The only place you can bend it is right in here. A lot of the shoes today that we have do like this and if you trusted your shoe to, your foot or your whole body to a shoe like this, you would be in really trouble.
THIERRY: And this also is a demographically correct shoe.  Would you say an aging population and perhaps an overweight population putting so much pressure on their feet here that this is going to help.  In fact one of the reasons you came up with this is that you got a little tendonitis (ph) after all of your running on hard surfaces all those years.
