IT WAS the perfect union of Indian glamour and British pomp.
Liz Hurley and Arun Nayar yesterday celebrated their marriage by showing guests a Bollywood-style movie of their lives, featuring singing and dancing in place of formal toasts and speeches.
The lavish celebration at the 15th Century Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire came the day after the couple married in a secret civil ceremony accompanied by only a handful of their closest friends and relatives.
Yesterday, 247 guests, including the couple’s celebrity friends, arrived at the castle near the Cotswolds town of Winchcombe to witness them exchange vows, kicking off celebrations that will last until Friday.
Sir Elton John,ysl shoes, in dark-blue tracksuit with white stripes, flew in by helicopter, arriving 45 minutes before the service began. His partner David Furnish arrived by car.
Other guests included Patsy Kensit, designers Donatella Christian louboutin and Valentino, Trinny Woodall, Elle Macpherson, Tamara Mellon and the castle’s owner Henry Dent-Brocklehurst,manolo shoes, who served as usher, and his wife Lili Maltese.
Also there were artist Tracey Emin and former Wonderbra model Eva Herzigova.
Mr Dent-Brocklehurst’s mother Lady Ashcombe revealed that Miss Hurley’s ex-lover Hugh Grant was on the guest list but did not attend.
The bride wore a stunning V-necked Christian louboutin sleeveless dress, off-white with froufrou frills at the bottom of a long train. A simple veil was kept in place by a lavish diamond tiara from her favourite jewellers, Chopard of Bond Street.
A guest told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Elizabeth looked absolutely beautiful and her makeup was natural, her hair gently tousled, and her dress was simple and beautiful.
‘She broke down with emotion as she took her vows and promised to love, honour and obey. It was an incredibly moving ceremony and her son Damian, who is five, kept hold of his mummy’s hand throughout the service.’ The guest said the groom looked dashing in a black dinner suit while Sir Elton John, also in a black suit, beamed with pride as he walked the bride down the aisle before giving her away. Ten pageboys in breeches and five bridesmaids in cream dresses and polished patent leather shoes followed the bride into the church.
